The Saint Luis Rey brand was launched just before World War II. Some claim that the brand name refers to Thornton Wilder's play The Bridge of San Luis Rey, which was popular at the time. However, it is more likely that it is dedicated to the city of San Luis, in the heart of the Vuelta Abajo, which to this day produces excellent wrappers for Habanos.
Whatever is true - the Habanos of the Saint Luis Rey brand enjoy an excellent reputation among aficionados due to the intense taste of the cigars. They are made from filler and binder leaves from the Vuelta Abajo tobacco growing zone.
Today, only one format remains in this connoisseur-appreciated brand - the Saint Luis Rey Regios.
All formats are totalmente a mano, tripa larga – long fillers made entirely by hand.
