Veguero is the Spanish word for tobacco farmer. Without him there would be no tobacco for cigars. His work is hard and tedious. Every one of the often more than 100,000 plants on a plantation has to be checked and cared for more than 150 times during a growing season. The Vegueros brand is dedicated to these important workers who have been cultivating tobacco in the Pinar del Rio region for generations. Although the brand has been on the market since 1996, it came onto the market in 2014 in a completely new form. The blends of the cigars, which are more harmonious and lighter than those of the original formats, are also completely new. Habanos classifies them as medium to strong. They are manufactured according to the classic "totalmente a mano" method, which is only practiced in Cuba to this day - completely by hand - in the "Francisco Donatién" factory in the heart of the Cuban tobacco center Pinar del Rio. The building of this small factory has existed since 1868, but has only been used as a cigar factory since 1961. All formats of the Trinidad brand are also manufactured here. All formats are totalmente a mano, tripa larga – long fillers made entirely by hand.
