The Weasalitos is a half lancero (3 ½ x 38) produced using the tabaquiado method of rolling a cigar.
Skip Martin explains the technique involves bunching tobacco by hand before it is bound in newspaper to tighten the bunch progressively as the tobacco dries out. “The method was used to shape figurados before presses and is used by to create the Weasalito as it’s difficult to fit a lot of tobacco into a small ring gauge cigar,” said Martin.
Once this process is completed, the lancero sized cigar is cut in half and the wrapper is added.
