Samuel Gawith Bothy Flake
Bob Gregory doesn't know how many "bothies" (little shacks) there are in the Highlands, but he estimates there are around 40. The good thing about these shacks is that smoking is still allowed here. You can do anything in such a hut: you can make a fire to keep warm, you can eat the food that is left over, and you can also drink the drink that was left behind. The prerequisite, however, is that food and drink are replenished for the next hiker.
“These little shacks saved my life once,” says Bob. »Many years ago I spent two nights with my father in the Cairngorm Mountains in wet, cold and windy conditions. My father sprained his ankle and could barely walk. Our good fortune was the Corar Bothy, which gave us shelter during the storm.'
The "Bothy Flake" is a thank you to the small huts. Consisting of a full Virginia tobacco with a small amount of Latakia from Cyprus. The addition of a typical Highland malt whiskey essence gives the flake its smoky, peaty undertone, which is cleverly emphasized by the Latakia. Medium strong and aromatic with a full room note. A real highlander!
