Barling Trafalgar - Fossil 1818
The Cape of Trafalgar is located south of the Andalusian city of Cadiz, west of the Strait of Gibraltar. Here the English admiral Nelson achieved hero status when he defeated the Spanish-French Armada in 1805. He sank 20 enemy ships without losing a single one. Nevertheless, he was fatally wounded in this battle. But the victory laid the foundation for England's maritime rule, which lasted over a century.
In 1842 a monument was finally dedicated to the war hero, which became famous all over the world. The center of London's Trafalgar Square is adorned with a 51 meter high column with the captain's statue. This is surrounded by four huge bronze lion sculptures. Speaking of lions ... they are not only the heraldic animal of the English crown, but also of the city of London. Thousands of lion images can be found in the cityscape, which is why the Kopp family decided to celebrate the new beginning with dignity by allowing themselves to replace the well-known crossed Barling logo with a noble lion head made of real silver. They also had the massive sterling ring in traditional hammer-blow look specially made according to their wishes.
Darling, where is my Barling?
