In 1972, Giancarlo founded his brand Mastro de Paja in Pesaro. The name and the logo with the shining sun are well known to pipe smokers worldwide. The workshop is the cradle of the well-known Pesaro pipe design: well-known pipe shapes were given a new signature here: from then on they were interpreted in a neoclassical way, appearing lighter and more playful than the previously known classics of the strict English school. In close collaboration with silversmiths, the pipes were sumptuously decorated with fine materials. The artistic and creative standards were and are high. In the early years, the brand had to undergo a few changes of ownership, but finally found calm waters in 1982, when Alberto Montini joined. More than three decades later, he is still at the helm of the company. The esprit and passion have remained with him to this day. With the two collections Anima and Dolce Vita, we are introducing you to series for the first time that were also made in his house. In this way, we give a wider audience the opportunity to form their own impression of the company's high quality standards.
